I had a tough time choosing my perfect bookstagram theme, and now I found the perfect one with which I am totally consistent. Consistency is key. I changed my theme recently to messy bed theme from simple white background theme. Wanna know how I found my perfect bookstagram theme? Lemme also help you to find yours! Relax, it's lort (long yet short)!

The Beginning

For me, the beginning was just by checking out on some beginners' feeds. And from there I found that the white background and few props were easily available, so I started it somehow. The less pain, the less gain! So, I just couldn't stand out in the beginning but now I have 10-15 engaging friends in the community, and I think that's super huge!

Some of you, in fact many of you, might think that a girl who herself couldn't stand out in the niche, how will she benefit us? Beginners guide to beginners is the best thing! I am not a beginner but I am guiding you with my own story as a beginner. You guys can skip the post right now, but the loss will be yours. Trust me on this!

Lemme help you chose your perfect bookstagram theme right now and right here.

Soooo, let' start!

1. Search #bookstagram or #bookstagrammer on instagram and choose 5 different consistent themes you like best. No more, no less! I am advising you to choose 1-2 feeds from the the top posts (you gotta dream big). Just don't end up choosing those themes which are really appealing but you can't maintain as a beginner. Those accounts who rank in the top posts of the hashtags aren't doing anything impossible. Their posts are there cause their photo quality is great and they are in the community for a long time resulting high engagement rate (just take a deep breath, you might be there soon). You are gonna choose minimal or maximal theme, depends on your choice, time, effort and maintenance. If you can afford the themes you have chosen carry on to my 2nd step!

2. Bring out all the props you have right in front of your eyes. Yes, I mean in front of you and not on your imagination. Divide the props in five categories based on your themes. Obviously, you can't use all the props in one theme.(HAHAHA!)

3. Now it's time to think. Think about the books you have in your shelves, including e-books, think whether the props would match with them or not? Surely, you can't use knife as a prop with a book like The Bride Test (my next read, tried it? lemme know!). There are some props which go well with all books like flowers, candles, lucky stars, books and marbles (you might wanna try them as a beginner, surely do, I am with you). After this long thought of yours, found that one theme out of that five which you can actually keep up with? Ting tong, warning bell rings! Don't be overwhelmed! If you are starting from scratch don't try to be paperfury in one day! Cause that's impossible. Yeah, you can surely take her theme as inspiration, you can start with a floral theme like hers, but you can only do this if you have a lot of DIY flowers, lucky stars, different kinda props and a huge bookshelf (here I mean, super huge!). You would end up feeling demotivated if you can't maintain that theme. So, just be yourself!

Based on the steps above, till now you surely have got an idea about how you want your bookstagram feed to be, which props you should use and of course, you can be consistent too! Start bookstagram with things you already have (bed sheet, calender, flowers, marbles etc.) You can spend $1 or $2 if you like, that's your wish.

You might've seen that most famous and fabulous bookstagrammers have consistent themes. Paperfury has a colorful and magical floral theme. But as a beginner her photos used to suck (she herself admits that), she didn't even have a theme. So just don't give up. See other bookstagrammers with consistent themes, concentrate on your photography skills, think about what kind of props you have. Don't mix everything up. Just be creative and capture visually appealing photos. I have included some themed accounts and some of my personal theme ideas on my free guide (Get yours now!).

Sticking to a theme is really hard. So, choose the right one. And if you change your theme every now and then (once or twice is fine!), your account will lose it's originality.

So, be sensible while choosing a theme, don't be harsh on yourself with a theme, just choose one as you like and you can afford. I hope my steps have helped you so far. And no copy-pasting (that's a bookstagram offence), be creative and rock!

Did it help you even a little, lemme know in the comments.

Tolerated me so far? Thank you, your free guide is here!
