True friends never apart, maybe in distance never in heart- isn't that your favorite quote regarding friendship? Well, mine is.

Since You've Been Gone, a book by Morgan Matson is something you can never hate('til you are some psychopath). We all have friends, don't we? Even an introvert has an extrovert friend, I guess!

Sloane and Emily have been those kind of friends. They have been together since very few number of years but imagining one without the other is impossible. I think every group of friends' has that one crazy and funky problem solver-extrovert like Sloane. On the other side, there is Emily who is mostly known as Sloane's friend.

So, the book is about Sloane and Emily. Sloane vanishes without any prior info. Emily has no idea where Sloane is. But Sloane leaves a clue, which is a list. Sloane had done this before. But for Emily, this list was a direction to find Sloane without whom her life is unimaginable.

So what do you think? Will Emily be able to find Sloane? What good would the list do to her?

The writer covers different incidents occurring in both their lives throughout the book in parts while Emily completes the list. How do they become friends and a lot of other memorable incidents will make you fall in love with the book. Some people termed this book as slow-paced but the feeling of friendship made me fall in love with the book. Adventurous friendship, understanding love, having trust and a journey of an introvert to become an extrovert- can touch anyone's heart.

Well, have I been able to answer your question in the heading? If not then lemme elaborate as to why Since You've Been Gone is the best book on friendship?

  • It is about two friends who trust each other more than anyone else.

  • It is about prioritizing friendship over everything else.

  • It is about doing things you'd never do but still do just to find your friend without even knowing that you'd find her or not.

If you are still reading my blabbers, you surely have guessed that this book, according to me deserves a 5 on 5 rating.

I am like Sloane and I have a friend like Emily. You can check my friend on Instagram @naiee_reads. I loved the book so much that I too provided her a list and went away for a few days. This book was my second read this year and I loved it so much. I love books about friendship, do you do too? Suggest me some in the comments below!
